Ages: 3-4 years of instrumental music studies
WEEK-LONG | August 9-13: 9:30AM - 3:30PM
Instructor: Brandon McCune, Zach Lorelli, Joe Muccioli
Summer at the Jazz Arts Academy is a one-week intensive jazz studies program for aspiring teen jazz musicians. This is a performance-based program where each student gets the opportunity to perform and to learn about the many aspects of jazz; melody, harmony, improvisation and the rich history of this great music. The faculty includes world-class working professional recording artists who are also dedicated educators. Students gain insight and experience into the world of jazz by hands-on performance-based classes, theory lessons, workshops and listening sessions.
Students should have at least 3-4 years of instrumental music studies behind them, be able to read music, and should have at least 4-5 major scales memorized to get the most out of this camp session. A full commitment and attendance at all of the week-long activities is required. A student showcase will be held on Thursday evening at the Jazz in the Park series in Red Bank.
Tuition assistance grants and a limited number of full scholarships are available. Please apply early, as these opportunities are limited.
- Camp sessions run 9:30 am – 3:30 pm daily for one week.
- Students ages 13 – 19 on all instruments are welcome.
Student showcase concert will be held as part of an outdoor series at Red Bank’s Jazz In The Park on Thursday evening August 12
