INTRODUCTION TO MUSIC - Ages 3 - 4

This music readiness program is designed to help young children discover the joys of music.  The class will encourage children to develop musical expression through games, stories, songs and movement.  Fundamentals such as rhythm, ear training and note readding will be explored.  The children will be introduced to the piano.  The program provides understanding, skills, enjoyment and confidence.  Includes an in-class performance at the end of the session.  Class size;  minimum 5, maximum 8.

MAGIC KEYS - ages 5 - 6

This music readiness program is designed with the same objectives as the Introduction to Music for ages 3 - 4.  The class will expand on those objectives and explore the fundamentals of music more thoroughly with the use of keyboards.  Includes an in-class performance at the end of the session.  Class size:  minimum 5, maximum 8. 

 

SUZUKI VIOLIN - Ages 5 - 6 AND 6 - 7

This class will introduce children to the violin, rhythm, note reading and ear training.  The students will develop an understanding of how to learn music with confidence and enjoyment.  The class also will help prepare students for study of an instrument.  includes an in-class performance.  Class size; minimum 4, maximum 5.

 

January 2012 Group Music classes meet once a week for six weeks.  Each class is fifty minutes long. Tuition for the six week program (including performance) is $130 + $15 Registration Fee. Violin rental is $10.  Please note that students may bring their own violin to the class.

CONTINUING SESSIONS OF THE ABOVE CLASSES WILL BE OFFERED:  MARCH 5TH -  APRIL 9TH   and  MAY 7TH - JUNE 11TH.

 

Music Theory & Ear Training Lab

Provides essential instruction in the fundamentals of music, from beginning through advanced concepts. Provides preparation for optional graded Music Theory Certification exams offered by Associated Board of the Royal School of Music. Ages 10 & up. 
Consevatory students enrolled in a full 18-lesson semester of private music lessons receive a partial scholarship for Music Theory Classes.

Master Classes

Conducted by qualified Conservatory faculty or invited professional artists, to expose intermediate/ advanced students to new techniques and approaches in the study of their instrument or voice.
